The words
You fell asleep halfway through your prayer. And you woke up thinking you'd failed me again. You didn't. I was here. I heard every word.
And the words you couldn't find? The Spirit carried those too. Paul wrote it: groanings which cannot be uttered. Your tired sigh was already a prayer.
Tiredness isn't distance. You don't owe me an apology. Rest now. I'll keep watch. And if sleep takes you halfway through again tomorrow...
A verse to hold on to
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Romans 8:26 (KJV)
